PRESCHOOL

FOCUS: Designed to focus on the development of key fundamentals for youth young athletes.
FORMAT: 3v3 format. This program is a very basic introduction to the game. Teams practice one day per week and have games following the practice. Shin guards are required and cleats are optional.
FALL SEASON DATES: Mid August - Mid October
SPRING SEASON DATES: Early April - Mid May
PRACTICES: 1 time/week- Monday
GAMES: Last 15 min of practice- Monday
UNIFORM: Jersey provided -
FORMAT: 6U T-ball practices for 1 hour, 1 day per week. Games are on Saturdays. There will be no games Memorial Day weekend. 6U T-ball plays other GRD 6U T-ball teams.
SEASON DATES: Mid-April – Early June
PRACTICES: 1 day per week; exact date & time TBD
GAMES: Saturdays, April 27 – June 8, 2023 (no game May 25), Time varies
UNIFORM: Jersey, hat
EQUIPMENT: Glove, batting helmet, bat (coaches will have a few bats and helmets to use if players do not have their own.)AGE REQUIREMENT: Players must be 5 years old as of January 1st

Our baseball program is comprised of the following divisions:
8U - Coach Pitch
10U - Minor League
12U - Major League
14U - Babe Ruth
Our 8U - 12U teams play in the RYSE Baseball League (rysenation.org), and 14U plays in the Don Edwards Middle School League (donedwardspark.org).
EVALS: Each age group will have a mandatory player evaluation before the season starts (early March). This information will be used by GRD staff and Volunteer Head Coaches to draft teams.
UNIFORMS: 8U receives a jersey & hat, 10U - 14U receives jersey, hat, pants, socks
PRACTICES: All practices are at Racoon Valley Park. 8U has 2 contact points (CP)/week, 10U has 3-4 CP/week, 12U 4-5 CP/week, and 14U 5-7 CP/week.

We offer Boys & Girls lacrosse for 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th grade.
LEAGUES: Boys play in the Central Ohio Youth Lacrosse League (COYLL) and the girls play in the Central Ohio Girls Youth Lacrosse Association (COYGLA).
FOCUS: Designed to focus on developing individual stick skills, playing as a team, and learning a basic understanding of the game.
FORMAT: The season will run from early March to the end of May. Practices will be held several nights per week. Games will be scheduled with teams in the greater Columbus area. The majority of games will be on Sunday afternoons. Home games and practices will be held at Bryn Du Mansion.
UNIFORMS: Jersey and shorts are provided. All pads, gloves and helmets (boys) / goggles (girls) are required

We provide club soccer for boys and girls ages 8 - 13. Team placement is based on birth year.
FOCUS: Development of basic skills of the game to prepare for the next level of competition.
FORMAT: These teams are a part of the Ohio Champions League. Teams will compete with other club teams within central Ohio. Games are typically on weekends. Season will go roughly from early March through end of May. Contact points can vary between 2-5/week based on practice and game schedules.
UNIFORMS: Jersey, shorts, and socks are provided. Shin guards and cleats are required.
EVALS: Evaluations are required to be selected for a team. Evals occur at the end of the previous club soccer season. Evals are open to everyone, roster spots are not guaranteed season to season.

Tennis is available for 6th-8th graders. Spring season is for boys tennis, Fall season is for girls tennis.
FORMAT: Players need to know the basics of tennis. Practices 1-2 days a week. Matches are played at home and away in Columbus Area Suburbs/Licking County. Approximately 6 per season.
SEASON DATES: Late March through early May
PRACTICES: exact dates & times TBD, all practices and home matches are at the GHS tennis courts
UNIFORM: Jersey is provided
EQUIPMENT: Tennis Racquet and tennis shoes required
MIDDLE SCHOOL

FOCUS: To learn and develop archery skills.
FORMAT: Participants will learn and develop Archery techniques through practices and tournaments throughout Central Ohio. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in Individual and/or Team Tournaments with a maximum of 24 team members who can attend per tournament.
Due to the many other sport commitments, attending all practices is NOT MANDATORY and independent practices are encouraged.
TRY-IT: Those interested are encouraged to attend the first couple of weeks to give archery a try.
SEASON DATES: Late October- Spring
PRACTICE LOCATION: Granville Middle School Gym
PRACTICES: M, Tu, F | 6:30-7:30AM | Practice Days could change if necessary due to Coach availability

FORMAT: 13/14U baseball plays in the Don Edwards Babe Ruth Baseball League (donedwardspark.org). League is comprised of many Licking County communities. There are Spring and Summer leagues. You have the option to play in either or both. Each of the three options has its own registration.
EVALS: Based on registration numbers, GRD will decide if we will have 1 or 2 teams. If there is one team, an evaluation will occur before the season with potential cuts.
GAMES: All games will be played at Don Edwards Park.
PRACTICES: All practices will be at Racoon Valley Park. Practice days will vary. Contact points can vary between 4-6 days
UNIFORM: Jersey, hat, socks, pants provided
EQUIPMENT: Glove, batting helmet, bat, cleats required

MS lacrosse is provided for both boys and girls
FOCUS: The middle school lacrosse program will focus on developing strong individual lacrosse skills and understanding of the game.
SEASON DATES: Early March through mid-May
PRACTICES: Several nights a week at Bryn Du Mansion
ROSTERS: Roster construction will be fluid and based off registration numbers. GRD and MS coaches will partner with HS coaches to determine roster makeup.
GAMES: Greater Columbus Area. Teams will end the season with a post season tournament.
UNIFORMS: Jersey and shorts are provided. All pads, gloves and helmets (boys) / goggles (girls) are required

FORMAT: Both boys and girls teams will compete in the Middle School Soccer Association (M.S.S.A). Teams will practice several nights per week and games are typically played on both weeknights and weekends. Teams will compete against communities in the Columbus suburbs. Standings will be kept and an end of season tournament will complete each season.
